Physiotherapy with an ultra-high-frequency electromagnetic field, strongly anti-inflammatory.
UHF is physiotherapy with an ultra-high-frequency electromagnetic field. The field meets the ions of the body's well-conducting tissues — blood, lymph, intercellular fluid, muscle and parenchymatous organs — and a current arises.
How it works
Because the frequency is very high, this current passes into the intracellular environment as well. Blood vessels widen, lymph flow improves, biologically active substances are produced. Since connective tissue absorbs the field well, UHF has a strong anti-inflammatory action.
Where it is used
UHF is prescribed chiefly in acute inflammatory processes — which sets it apart from most other physiotherapy methods. The number and strength of sessions are set by the doctor.
When UHF therapy is prescribed
- Acute inflammation of the skin and subcutaneous tissue
- Disorders of the peripheral nervous system
- Inflammatory disease of the musculoskeletal system
- Inflammatory disease of the gynaecological organs
- Inflammatory disease of the respiratory organs
- Inflammatory ENT conditions
