A marble Turkish bath, a Finnish sauna, a mosaic steam room and a Charcot shower — the warm half of the spa.

The hammam and the sauna are part of the hotel's spa centre and come with your stay — there is no separate charge. The zone is in the same building as the treatment wing, so there is no need to leave the hotel between a bath and a physiotherapy session.

How it fits around the treatment

Heat puts a load on the circulation, so using the sauna on the same day as a Naftalan bath is agreed with the doctor, and the sauna is never prescribed straight after a bath. During a course the hammam is usually placed on the days without one.

The traditional kese scrub and foam massage is booked separately at the spa desk.

Please note

Use of the warm zone is restricted with cardiovascular conditions, high blood pressure, pregnancy and acute inflammation. There are women-only hours in the spa.

Frequently asked questions

You warm up first on the marble navel stone while the steam prepares the skin. Then the kese mitt takes off the dead skin and a soft foam massage follows. A warm shower and a rest close the session, which runs 40–50 minutes in all. Robe, towels and slippers come from the hotel.

The Finnish sauna is dry, hot air in short sessions; the steam room is cooler but humid and easier on the breathing. The Charcot shower is a procedure rather than a room: a pressurised jet is directed over the body, aimed at circulation and muscle tone. The first two you use freely, the Charcot shower is prescribed.

Use of the warm zone is included in the stay. The kese and foam massage, the Charcot shower and the other attended procedures are a separate service, or go inside a treatment package — reception will tell you which applies to yours. If you are on a course, agree with your doctor which days the warm zone suits.
