Medical consultation

Every course begins with a consultation — the procedures are chosen from your own results, not taken off a shelf. On the first day after arrival a physician examines you and blood work is done; the programme is written once those results are in hand.

What happens on arrival:

  • Physician's examination: your complaints, medical history and any medication you take
  • A full blood count across eighteen parameters
  • Biochemistry, to assess the body's general condition
  • Blood pressure, pulse, and further checks where they are needed

The reason for the tests is straightforward: a naftalan bath, physiotherapy and the other procedures act on the body, so a physician needs to see your numbers before a course starts. Those numbers decide which procedures, at what temperature, for how long, and how many times. In some cases a particular procedure is not prescribed at all — and that only becomes clear from the results.

Your condition is re-checked as the course runs. The programme is not written once and left alone: when the readings change, the procedures are adjusted with them. At the end of the course a physician carries out a final examination and explains what is worth continuing at home.

Consultations take place in the hotel's own treatment wing, with our medical staff. If you live with a chronic condition or take medication regularly, bringing your recent test results and prescription list makes the course easier to plan accurately.
