Physiotherapy with a low-frequency pulsed magnetic field, aimed at inflammation, swelling and pain.
Magnetotherapy acts on the body with a pulsed, low-frequency magnetic field. It raises metabolism inside the cell and improves cell permeability, and through that works against inflammation and swelling, settles and eases pain.
How it works
The magnetic field widens blood vessels, reduces the thickness of the blood and the tendency to clot, and improves local circulation so that oxygen reaches the tissue. The procedure is painless and does not break the skin.
How it differs from SIS therapy
Both methods work with a magnetic field, but at different strengths. SIS is a super-inductive, high-intensity field directed at deep tissue; classical magnetotherapy is low-frequency and gentler. Which one suits is chosen by the doctor from the complaint and your general condition.
When Magnetotherapy is prescribed
- Osteochondrosis of the spine, neuritis
- Recovery after injury to the central and peripheral nervous system
- Chronic venous insufficiency, thrombophlebitis, lymphatic disorders
- Atherosclerosis of the vessels, diabetic angiopathy, Raynaud's syndrome
- Vegetative-vascular dystonia, rheumatic conditions
- Grade I–II hypertension — under medical supervision only
