Speleotherapy (the salt room)

Procedures

Sessions in a room with a salt microclimate, used in respiratory and skin programmes.

Speleotherapy takes its name from natural salt caves. In its modern form a room is built whose walls and air are saturated with salt; the guest simply sits and breathes quietly, and a session runs 30 to 40 minutes.

What it is used for

Chronic complaints of the upper respiratory tract, a tendency to allergy, some skin programmes, and plain relaxation. The effect accumulates over a course.

Limits

Sessions are not given during acute infection, with a fever, with haemoptysis or in severe heart and lung failure. Whether it suits you is decided by the doctor.
