Procedures
Treatment with natural therapeutic mud, the peloid, warmed and laid on as an application.
A peloid is natural mud carrying mineral salts and organic matter. In peloid therapy it is warmed and laid on a part of the body, and the effect comes both from the heat and from the chemistry.
Its place in a naftalan course
Mud and paraffin do not replace the naftalan bath; they sit beside it. Two heat procedures are not put on the same day: the doctor either alternates them or places them on rest days.
Who it does not suit
Acute inflammation, fever, malignancy, a tendency to bleeding and severe heart failure rule it out. The list is not exhaustive; the examination decides.
