Practical
The ways into Naftalan by air, train, bus and car, the distances, and how a transfer is arranged.
Naftalan has no airport of its own — people do search for a "Naftalan airport", and there is none. There is a choice of two, and which suits you depends on where you are flying from.
By air
Ganja International Airport (KVD) is the nearest — 60 km, about an hour on the road. Heydar Aliyev Airport in Baku (GYD) takes direct flights from many more cities, Moscow, St Petersburg and Yekaterinburg among them; the drive from there is about four hours. Book into whichever airport works out better — we arrange the transfer either way.
By train
Modern fast trains run between Baku and Ganja, taking about three and a half hours. From Ganja station it is 50 km to Naftalan; that leg can be covered by transfer too, and the reception helps with tickets.
Car and bus
The Baku–Ganja motorway is in good condition, and there is free parking at the hotel for those driving themselves. Regular buses run from Baku's coach station towards Ganja and Naftalan.
How a transfer works
Transfers are booked in advance: the driver meets you by flight number and waits if the flight is late. The service is chargeable; the price and the class of car are confirmed by reception when you book. Just send your arrival details with the reservation.
About the service itself: transfer and transport.
