Treatment
A resort whose treatment is built on a natural deposit of mineral water, oil or gas; Naftalan is one of them.
Resorts are classified by their healing factor: climatic resorts rest on the air, mud resorts on peloids, and balneological resorts on a natural deposit of water or oil. A balneological resort is built over its deposit — it cannot be moved elsewhere, because the agent is in the ground.
Where Naftalan fits
Naftalan is a balneological resort and its factor is medicinal oil. An industrial deposit of this type exists only here, which is what makes the resort itself unusual.
Choosing one
The question is not which hotel looks best but whether your complaint matches the resort's factor. A doctor answers that; going to a respiratory resort with a joint problem is time lost.
