Psoriasis

Conditions

A chronic, non-contagious skin disease marked by thickened, scaling patches — the skin diagnosis seen most often in resort treatment.

Psoriasis is a chronic disease in which skin cells renew far too quickly, leaving thickened, scaling patches on the surface. It is not contagious. Its course comes in waves — flares alternating with remission.

What naftalan does here

Psoriasis is one of the conditions naftalan is used for most: the aim is to reduce inflammation and itching and to lengthen remission. It is not a treatment that clears the disease, and it is not prescribed during an acute, widespread phase.

What is taken into account

The dermatologist looks at the stage, the area involved and the medicines you take; in some cases a course is postponed. If you are on phototherapy or systemic treatment, say so in advance.
