Osteochondrosis

Conditions

Age-related change in the spinal discs and the joints between vertebrae — among the commonest causes of back, neck and shoulder pain.

Osteochondrosis is a term widely used in post-Soviet medicine for changes in the discs and joints of the spine. The complaint is usually pain in the lower back, neck or between the shoulders, restricted movement, and sometimes pain running into an arm or a leg.

What a naftalan course does

The aim is to ease muscle spasm, reduce pain and restore movement. Baths and applications are planned together with physiotherapy, massage and therapeutic movement.

What needs attention first

Weakness in a leg, loss of sensation or trouble with bladder control are matters for urgent medical assessment, not for resort treatment. If you have imaging, bring it with you.
