Weather and seasons in Naftalan

Naftalan sits on the western edge of the Kura–Aras lowland, at the foot of the Lesser Caucasus, about 245 metres above sea level. The climate is dry and mild: long, hot, sunny summers, soft winters, and little rain for most of the year.

When to come

April to June and September to October are the most comfortable months for walking and excursions: warm by day, cool in the evening. July and August are dry and hot — that is when the outdoor pool and the garden terrace are at their busiest. November to March is the resort's quietest stretch; the winter is mild and snow is rare.

Does the season affect treatment?

No. The procedures take place in an enclosed medical wing, so a course runs at full strength whatever the month. Winter brings an extra advantage: the wing is emptier and the schedule easier to arrange.

What to pack

For summer, light clothes in pale colours, a hat and sunglasses, and something comfortable to put on after a procedure. Spring and autumn evenings cool down — a light jacket earns its place. In winter an ordinary warm coat is enough; heavy winter clothing is not needed. Swimwear for the pool in any season.
